WHOI Data Library and Archives
The Data Library and Archives (DLA) at WHOI is part of the joint MBLWHOI Library supported by the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI). The mission of the DLA is to serve the Woods Hole scientific community, including those individuals directly affiliated with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Marine Biological Laboratory, National Marine Fisheries Service, U. S. Geological Survey, and National Deep Submergence Facility. For all other institutions and individuals, the DLA maintains and encourages access to its collections but restricts its services to those which are compatible with the needs of its patron institutions.
The DLA holds a diverse collection of administrative records, photographs, scientists' personal papers, film and video, historical instruments, cruise data, ship logbooks, diaries, blueprints and oral histories, as well as WHOI publications, maps, atlases, books and technical reports.
The archives are available by appointment only for Woods Hole researchers. Due to ongoing projects and limited resources, the archives will not be open to individuals who are not part of the Woods Hole scientific community at this time. Please call 508-289-2865 to schedule a visit.
