International Love Data Week 2025!

WHOI, welcome to International Love Data Week 2025!

This week, the global data community celebrates the importance of research data. The theme for 2025 is “Whose Data Is It, Anyway?” This theme challenges us to consider where data was created, who has a claim to “ownership” of data, and how we can ethically and responsibly steward the research data we have. For us at WHOI, the answer is often a simple one – this is everyone’s data, collected and shared for advancing knowledge of the ocean and its connection with the Earth system.

This year, the Data Library and Archives will be celebrating Love Data Week from February 10-14, 2025. There are many online and virtual activities in which you can participate, and we’d love to hear from you about how you’d like to celebrate in the future. The DLA staff is here to help with all your research data needs. Even though this event is just one week, we love data all year long!
