The Amendment to Publication Agreement, is a document that gives Woods Hole authors and their employing institutions non-exclusive rights to use, distribute, and reproduce material in electronic digital or print form in activities connected with the author's academic and professional activities.
NIH funded authors may use the Amendment to Publication Agreement to gain the rights needed to comply with the NIH Public Access Policy. The amendment supports placement of material in institutional repositories such as the Woods Hole Open Access Server, WHOAS.
The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and the Marine Biological Laboratory encourage authors to consider using this amendment to specify the rights that are retained by the author[s] when copyright is transferred to a journal.
