Physical access to the main collection of the MBLWHOI Library is open to the public Monday - Friday during staffed hours.
Remote access and after hours access to the library is restricted to Woods Hole Scientific Community affiliated patrons.
Patrons holding a valid MBLWHOI Library card may borrow, renew or recall MBLWHOI Library books. Patrons may sign out books for the duration of their affiliation, or one year, whichever comes first. Books must remain in the vicinity of Woods Hole and are subject to recalls. Serials, Special Collections, Archives and Rare Books do not circulate.
E-journals are licensed for the research use of the MBLWHOI Library community. Use of these resources is governed by copyright law and institutional license agreements. Any type of systematic downloading, distributing, or retaining substantial portions of information is prohibited. Some relevant titles are not subscribed to but are freely accessible and linked to through our website.

The collections in the Data Library and Archives are in closed stacks and are not accessible for browsing. Researchers are encouraged to contact the Data Library and Archives before planning a visit at archives [at] whoi [dot] edu.
Rare Books and MBL Archives
